Using these Procedures

This is the Child Protection Procedures manual for the London Safeguarding Children Partnership. This page explains how the manual works.

1. About this Manual

This manual provides Child Protection Procedures compliant with the current version of Working Together to Safeguard Children. The content has been written in a style intended to be accessible to a wide range of users from all of the agencies that make up the London Safeguarding Children Partnership, the voluntary sector and members of the public.

The manual has been organised with the Core Procedures in the most prominent place. These chapters explain the actions that must be taken when there are concerns about the welfare of a child.

The Safeguarding Practice Guidance section provides more detailed information about identifying risks and responding to children abused in specific circumstances. All chapters contain links to additional information and statutory guidance where appropriate.

2. Amendments & Archives

This manual will be updated twice annually in September and March, and a summary of the changes can be accessed via the 'Amendments' button on the Home page. You will also find the detail of the next planned manual update in this section.
